Mapagpalang araw po sa lahat!
Let this issue be a special edition devoted to remembering our 2015 RCCESI Planning Workshop last July 1618, 2015. Most of us joined the planning workshop at Room 404, TARC, which generated both old and new insights about our disciplinal spaces in our center. The presence and inputs of Ma’am Maribel encouraged openness about our varied situations and contexts that shaped our workshop discussions throughout the day. I felt a deep sense of commitment amongst many of us, and it seems that renewed path towards developing a more engaged research practices in the fields of arts, culture, humanities, social sciences, and education is now on the works. This enthusiasm continued during the overnight Rest and Recreation activity at Estancia Resort Hotel, from July 1718, 2015, at Tagaytay City, where participants enjoyed not only the sumptuous food and nature but more so, the silences, laughter and the many complicated “kuwento” of everyone about matters that matter, and matters that do not make sense. But it is what it is, we rested and hope that in the process, we recreated the ways by which we perceived our roles and responsibilities as research scholars of UST.

Special feature of this edition are the planning workshop materials, which are available for downloads so everyone could use them for research purposes. This is our center’s way of developing a culture of openness and sharing of resources that may evolve into meaningful scholarship.
